How Can Blessings Support Your Vision?
Visions are everywhere! Whether we are consciously choosing them or not, we have them deep within us around absolutely everything we want to be, have, do, feel and experience. Visions exist on a grander scale as we think of where we want to be 5 to 30 years from now all the way down to the more granular levels, i.e. where we want to live; how we want to eat on a daily basis, remodel our homes, and organize our work spaces.
Whether it’s a career, a vacation, a soul mate or a dream home, either by design or default, visions will manifest in all areas of our lives.
The question is: Are we consciously choosing our visions (by design) or are our visions manifesting as a result of unconsciously held beliefs that don’t reflect what we truly want (by default)?
In April of 2020 only weeks after the Covid shut down, I brought a new listing on the market. COVID was raging, people were panicking, and all of our hard work along with my clients’ vision for the next chapter of their lives was about to be jeopardized.
Knowing their purpose for selling and having a clear vision around the ways in which a new home would better support them, we pressed on.
Needless to say, it was a very difficult time for everyone, and at the end of the day, we sold their home and found them their forever home.
After they moved into their new home, the wife and I were having lunch, and she handed me a beautiful poem, “A Blessing,” as an expression of her gratitude for everything we had accomplished together. I was profoundly moved by it and have continued to read it from time to time. The other day, however, I had a different experience. The nature of this gift become meaningful in a new way. What I realized was that this blessing was serving as a reminder of a path I had embarked upon decades ago when I started doing my personal growth and development and healing work. I discovered that more than any material goal what I wanted for myself and others was more kindness, meaning, peace, joy and fulfillment…the very things mentioned in this poem:
A Blessing

May the light of your soul guide you.
May the light of your soul bless the work you do with the secret love and warmth of your heart.
May you see in what you do with the beauty of your own soul.
May the sacredness of your work bring healing, light and renewal to those who work with you and to those who see and receive your work.
May your work never weary you.
May it release within you wellsprings of refreshment, inspiration and excitement.
May you be present in what you do.
May you never become lost in the bland absences.
May the day never burden.
May dawn find you awake and alert, approaching your new day with dreams, possibilities and promises.
May evening find you gracious and fulfilled.
May you go into the night blessed, sheltered and protected.
May your soul calm, console and renew you.
So the next time someone says a prayer for you or wishes you well, consider it a reminder from Life/The Universe/God to reconnect with your lifelong dreams and goals. Remember that the people in our lives who love and care about us are part of life’s master plan to support what we hold deep in our hearts and that their blessings for us matter.
